Hello, I’m Emma, the founder of Rest Assured Homecare.
I imagine you are a bit like me, a busy person who is always trying to juggle family and work. This gets especially challenging when relatives begin to rely on you for their care, and you want to give them that care, but you have your own children to look after and a job to attend to.
Whilst working within a family business, I was caring for my grandparents at the same time. When I visited my grandparents, I wanted to be there as a granddaughter. To spend time with them, laugh with them and create new memories with them. Not do the washing up and make sure they had had their daily medicine. So, inspired by my experiences, I started Rest Assured Homecare in February 2019 with the aim of providing the same standard of care and dignity, both in turns of physical and mental well-being, to all my service users as I would expect to give my grandparents.
I understand that getting care needs right for families ultimately starts with creating and nurturing an exemplary culture within the business. It is therefore my desire that every single member of the team, no matter their role, is able to play to their strengths every day, continually learn, grow and better themselves within an organisation where they feel valued and part of a family.
When you place your care or the care of your relative with us, then I am confident that you will not be disappointed.
Our registered manager, Lara, resides locally with her partner Jon and shares her home with dogs, cats, and chickens. Prior to her career in care, Lara spent many years working in retail management roles. However, for the past five years, she has been dedicated to the care sector. Lara possesses a genuine passion for delivering exceptional standards of care and providing excellent customer service.
I started off as a support worker about 8 years ago and then progressed to Senior carer, then supervisor and now a field care manager. I work in care because I like being able to make a difference to people's lives. Providing clients with top quality bespoke care that allows them to stay living within the comfort of their own homes.
I have worked in care for 2 years
Care chose me! I never thought I would end up in care but looking after my mum changed my perspective. Also through the pandemic I set up a support group in our village to ensure the vulnerable got shopping, prescriptions and a chat through the window. It was so successful that the other villages surrounding did a similar thing.
I loved helping and making sure people were ok and that made me decide to try care for a living and I love it.
The most important thing about care is making sure people are well looked after and are not lonely.
I have worked in the care sector for two years, and I had previous experience in care as well. I decided to pursue a career in care because it was something I had never done before, but always wanted to try. I gave it a shot, and I found that I truly enjoy it because every day is different, and the job is very rewarding. Over time, I have been promoted to the role of senior carer, which allows me to provide support to others.
For me, the most important aspect of working in care is knowing that I have done my job properly. It involves going into a client's home, taking care of their needs, and bringing a smile to their face. Additionally, I enjoy welcoming new clients and getting to know them and their families. The flexibility of the working hours also fits well with my personal life, and I feel supported by the management of the company.
